How travelling advances Self-discovery

“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

You have only begun travelling once you know where you are travelling to. That’s securing a destination before you leave a place of origin. You would do all your planning to travel to a place you had in mind and fancy about it well before you witnessed it. The complete preparation and execution for travelling depend on why you travel.

Starting where you are staying in your house, a thought comes to your mind, pulling you to a range of possibilities to leave where you are currently. Now, what would happen next? You got another thought and mind believing the likeliness of something built out of it, and a jumbling of choices and decisions made it frying spices in a hot pan.

Besides, what happened while you did the groundwork, and what will happen when you hold it with your eyes? — Travel of thoughts in your mind. Travelling of multiple choices of place, and a good idea of travelling. It means a lot of travelling happens while you are preparing for it. You act on it; that is the travel of action. You decide on it; that is the selection of travel. Now, the only missing step is connecting that travel of thoughts and choices in your mind with the outer world, and you reach your destination.

It brings two chances: how does that small thought of travelling change your attitude? Second, how did you associate travelling with your individuality? Every step is a journey to a destination, whether it’s your thoughts or those of you who would visit that place. All the senses, your physical body, and your mind are on a mission to complete that task of travelling. Your five senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste — are involved in the preparation for travelling. It had a great impression on your personality. You have always been a constant traveller towards a destination from where you currently are.

It also gives you the feeling with whom you are travelling to decide the setting of your travel becomes more meaningful or adventurous. It is a dopamine rush when you live there. The sights you would see, the food you would taste, the listening of nature around you, and their connection to interacting with the surroundings you have been to. That experience and association with the person you’re travelling with gives you more understanding of that person, place, and people you connected with. Besides, if you travel alone, a solo traveller meets a new person: you. You would realise that meeting with yourself makes you understand more about yourself. Travelling makes you humble.

Well, it has always been a challenging ride. You could observe a rocky road. It is a full-fledged event of the sport of travelling, which gives you a challenge to go through. Sometimes, you feel disconnected from the places and people or the overall travelling, especially how it approaches gloomy tunnels. It questions your traditions, culture, way of life, and your core beliefs. Travelling gives you awareness of things worth understanding.

Further, it pushes you to the roads where you have fair and unfair choices, a path that leads you to your destination. Then, your decision to select between a good and lousy path or merely ethical and righteous choices determines how you live through travelling.

The more you go further in the insights of travelling, the more you find close to yourself.
